About Jackie

I have enjoyed dancing for the last 35 years. Starting off with disco and modern dance, I then moved into Ballroom and Latin dance instruction. I have taught classes in Ballroom and Latin dancing, and am able to choreograph routines incorporating different styles of dance, as you can see from the videos.

If you want to start with the basics in Ballroom & Latin dance, then why not sign up for the Dance Workshops.  See the Events page for more details on this.

I am also a qualified fitness instructor and have taken my love for Ballroom and Latin to teach JaXFit Dance exercise classes in and around Salisbury.

In 2018 I put on the first Salisbury Does Strictly charity event, which raised over £18,000 for both the Salisbury Hospice and Southern Spinal Injuries Trust.

The Small Details

For wedding or other celebration dances, I will initially come and have a chat with you about the type of dance you have in mind and your song choice, or guide you if you are unsure. We will go over a few basic steps to try to music, so that I can get a feel for your ability. This is a free, no obligation, consultation where I can answer any questions or concerns you may have, as well as get to know you a little to inject your personalities into the dance.

Lessons are usually one hour per week in the evening or at weekends, but can be more regular if needed.

The moves are typed out so that you can practice in between lessons. It is a good idea to have a “dress rehearsal” lesson at the venue you are holding your celebration/event at, to get used to the floor and surroundings.

For group dances (Hen parties, corporates, etc) I will put together a fun workshop to teach a routine either of your choice or I can suggest some, it can be at a venue where the group can also enjoy a few drinks to make a fun evening experience.
